Telly Award Winner
Beyond the Stands pres. by Wells Fargo is a video series exploring the off the field philanthropic efforts and community involvement of Major League Soccer players and fans. It is the epitome of the type of projects I enjoy being a part of.
I was the executive producer of this series, which spanned 22 episodes over 3 seasons, with episodes filmed in the U.S., Ghana, Honduras and Jordan. In addition to being a mainstay on the content calendar for three years, Beyond the Stands was regularly used to promote MLS’s “Soccer For All” campaign, and excerpts were used by ESPN’s pregame shows for nationally televised matches.
Beyond the Stands won a Silver Telly Award for Campaign: Social Responsibility for Branded Content. It was also presented by the series host, Jillian Sakovits, at the UN Vatican Youth Symposium, an annual gathering of young leaders from around the world, discussing and generating solutions for the most urgent issues of humanity.
This series is a textbook example of the success that’s possible when the right partner meets the perfect idea. Prior to coming on board for Beyond the Stands, many of Wells Fargo’s other MLS activations centered around community service and highlighting those who do it. When this idea was hatched there was no doubt they should be attached to it, and that brand alignment from the beginning allowed us to tell these incredible stories.
